West Vancouver is located between the mountains and the ocean, 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver. Our community is a safe, beautiful residential area with many recreational facilities, parks, tennis courts and shopping facilities. It has a high socio-economic standing as part of the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Region. The population of the Vancouver area is just over two million.
The Vancouver area is made up of a variety of ethnic and religious groups. The climate in the area ranges from cool, cloudy, wet winters to warm, sunny, dry summers. The average winter temperature is 5 degrees Celsius and the average summer temperature is 25 degrees Celsius.
West Vancouver Schools
West Vancouver School District’s International Student Program is offered to high school students from grades 8 to 12. We also offer elementary programs to younger students who meet additional requirements.
All schools in West Vancouver are co-educational. West Vancouver schools have long established traditions and a consistent record of excellence in academics, fine arts and athletics.
There are classrooms devoted to specialty subjects such as technical education, computers, sciences and fine arts.
The schools are committed to learning. The British Columbia academic curriculum is taught by dedicated teachers who not only prepare students very well for provincial examinations and post secondary studies but also provide for the needs of the individual student.
