Long Term Student Programs
West Vancouver School District's International Student Program is offered to students from grades 1 through 12.
There are three West Vancouver High Schools: Sentinel Secondary, Rockridge Secondary and West Vancouver Secondary. High school students will be placed in one of our three exceptionally good schools. In addition there are 14 elementary schools which accept students for full year or short term programs. All schools in West Vancouver are co-educational. West Vancouver schools have long established traditions and a consistent record of excellence in academics, fine arts and athletics. There are classrooms devoted to specialty subjects such as technical education, computers and sciences.
The schools are committed to learning. The British Columbia academic curricula are taught by dedicated teachers who not only prepare students very well for provincial examinations and post-secondary studies but also provide for the needs of the individual students.
The International Student Program allows overseas students to enter West Vancouver schools by paying fees to cover the cost of their education. It gives overseas students the opportunity to study alongside Canadian students in the public education system. By integrating International Students into the education system we hope that students will interact and learn from each other. This will ultimately increase multicultural understanding and strengthen ties between countries.
This program offers a wide range of courses in academic, technical, and business fields at different levels of difficulty. Many International Students who come to West Vancouver are planning to complete their secondary school education with a view to entering a Canadian university or college.
