Famous Destinations

Our summer program offers students the best of Vancouver cultural experiences. Each day our teachers take the students to a famous locale to experience the best our local areas.

West Vancouver is only one hour and twenty minutes away by road travel from Whistler Village. Students can see and experience the beautiful scenery on the drive up and at the home of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

For example students have the opportunity to cross the world's longest high suspension bridge at Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Each summer we also bring the students up the local Grouse Mountain where they can see bear and wolves as well as travel the chairlift to the peak of the mountain. Summer shows such as the lumberjack performance only serve to enhance the experience for students.

One of the most famous parks in the world, Stanley Park, is located right in downtown Vancouver and just minutes by bus from West Vancouver. Experience the live shows at the aquarium seen daily during the summer months. Or students can view the world famous totem poles which are a short walking distance away.

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a 50 minute bus ride from West Vancouver and students will have the opportunity to tour the campus of this beautiful site. During their visit students also are able to stop off at Jericho Beach for play on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Vancouver area.

A visit to Vancouver and Granville Island for shopping, visiting and sightseeing has proven very popular with all students. See here for some beautiful photos of Granville-Island.

Another interesting summer activity is a day spent at Steveston - an old fishing village that is 100 years old. You will enjoy a day at Steveston Fishing Village.
